Last month I had the incredible opportunity to visit New Mexico and document Brett, Angela, Margot and their latest addition — Esteban. I absolutely love doing dog family photoshoot. As a dog owner myself, I know how important the bond between mans best friend is and how important that is to capture.
I photographed their family photos in summer 2019, so when they adopted Esteban beginning of 2020 they asked if I could capture their growing family once again. Of course I said yes! Flash forward a pandemic later and we finally were able to get together and photograph their beautiful family.
We went to Pueblo MontaƱo Picnic Area and Trailhead in New Mexico. The sun was shining and we could not have asked for better weather. Seriously, the sun there is absolutely beautiful out west. I am writing this after 5 straight days of New England fog and mist and rain so I am really missing the New Mexico sun right now.
As you can tell from these photos, Estaban was quite the character in front of the camera.
*Margot is the beagle mix in the blue bandana and Estaban is the healer mix in the red bandana.
From the owners: “We’ve had our small husky-eyed beagle mix, Margot, for just over 4 years now. We got her a puppy playmate, Esteban, at the beginning of the pandemic. It was wonderful to finally get family photos with everyone while not having to utilize a self-timer and the luck of the draw with two angsty, energetic pups.”
This is such a cute idea and I love how cozy the shoot felt!
