Caroline & Sam’s Lake House Engagement session
Caroline first reached out to me in May for their wedding. Caroline and Sam got engaged last September, but they hadn’t had their engagement photos taken. This was actually their first time having professional photos taken in their 10 years together as a couple!
We had first discussed doing their photos at the Arnold Arboretum. The Arboretum is a classic New England arbor in the fall. I immediately put their session on my schedule and was excited to meet them in October. It is never to early, or too late, to plan your engagement photos. A couple months later, I got an email from Caroline asking if we can go to her cousins lake house instead. Um YES! I am always a fan of choosing a location that is personal and important to you.
About a week before their session when I checked in she asked if they could incorporate their dog in the session. Of course I said yes! I love capturing couples with their pets. I love capturing your furry family. Pets bring an unpredictable energy to a photoshoot, so make sure you let your photographer know before hand. I have a couple tips on how to have a successful photoshoot with your pet. (be on the look out for a blog post dedicated to the subject!) More pets at photo sessions please.
Once we finally met up for their engagement session, Caroline and Sam both expressed how nervous they were and how they had never had photos taken professionally before. I calmed their fears and assured them that their session is 100% about them and for them. While I always have ideas and prompts to help facilitate a variety of looks, if anything doesnโt feel like you, just let me know cause I only want to capture your 100% true and authentic relationship.
The entire time they both just laughed and joked with each other sharing inside jokes.
I loved how Caroline took their engagement session and made it 100% unique to them from the private lake house, to bringing their dog along. I truly can’t wait to capture their restaurant wedding next September. These photos are about your relationship, whatever that looks like. Looking to book an engagement shoot? Reach out to me today!ย
I love when couples use something like a private lake house, it allows for the couple to relax more and that always translates through the photos! Well done Tessa ๐ Excited to see what you capture next september!
Great connection in so many of these photos! And that pup! ::heart eyes::
It’s hard to believe they haven’t had photos done in 10 years! You helped them open up so well in front of the camera! Great photos!
These are really cute and I love that they included their dog in their engagement session! Since most dogs don’t get to come to the wedding, it’s so nice to see them showing off their full family for this part of their wedding photography. ๐
I love anything that involves the fur babies! We have two of our own now, but at the time of our wedding had only one. We made sure to incorporate him in our day. If the pets are important to you, it’s important to find someone who is willing to work with them also!
What a gorgeous location to have a session! Wonderfully done! <3
Oh my goodness, I love that they included their dog! Such sweet photos ๐
I want to see more pictures of that pup! This is beautiful and looks like it was a lovely time.
How special for them to have had this experience documented by you!
