Briana & Adam’s Adventure in the White Mountains

Briana and Adam got married last year on Halloween. Their 1 year anniversary was coming up, and what better way to spend it than with a White Mountain Adventure photoshoot! Even though they had a traditional wedding, we were still able to capture the feel of an intimate elopement with this styled shoot. 

We started off at Echo Lake Beach in the late afternoon. It was a beautiful day in early October and the fall foliage in the Whites had just turned. The colors were at their peak and you couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather. We explored the beach a little and then headed to the iconic boat dock where Briana and Adam got cozy splashing their feet in the water and checking out an abandoned boat docked nearby. 

After that we made our way up to Artist Bluff peak. We took the “short cut” route up instead of doing the full 1.5 lope. Because of that, it was just a straight incline. We made it up quickly only to find the place packed with fellow hikers, leaf peppers and photographers. Thankfully we were able to find a secluded spot around the side of the overlook. 

As they took their time to enjoy the view and the gorgeous weather, Briana and Adam wandered out to a rock that looked (from where I was) to have a particularly steep drop off. Briana was a trooper and rocked the entire session barefoot. While out on the steep rock face, she informed us that they had recently been to Zion National Park and had hiked Angels Landing. After that hike, she said, she wasn’t scared of anything. 

After enjoying the view and watching the setting sun play with the colors of the changing trees, they popped some champagne and we began to make our descent back down. It was dark through the wooded forest but thankfully I had packed some headlamps and we all made it safely back down the mountain. 

Just because you had a larger wedding, doesn’t mean you can’t also have your dream adventure session. Adventure sessions are perfect for anniversary photoshoots and the perfect excuse to pamper yourself and go explore some place new.
